Silent Scream

Silent Scream

A Poem by Brian K. Walters
"

A poem I wrote for a contest. Every line had to begin with the same letter.

"

Silent Scream

Searching for the moment when darkness ends and daylight begins.

Shadows invade my mind consuming the luxury of time.

Slipping further into the gray, I am lost.

Searching for hope while endlessly wading through the black mist.

Sanity eludes me as my visions blur into a cloud of confusion.

Screaming in silence, I fade into nothing.

Suddenly in the distance the sun emerges with its blinding light

Strange sensations tingle throughout my once numb veins.

Stinging the breath of life back into my soul.

Sounds of laughter emerge, shattering the silence in their wake

Still reeling in confusion I shake my head, my vision clears

Serenity is mine as my sanity returns.
