A Lifetime In Awe

A Lifetime In Awe

A Poem by Brian K. Walters

A Lifetime In Awe

I remember when I first saw you.
Your eyes caught the sun
as your smile captured my heart.
My knees went weak
and I couldn’t speak a word.

I could not fathom
the woman of my dreams
was actually standing in front of me.
I had no idea what to say
as I stood there in absolute awe.

My life changed forever that day.
Though many years have passed,
the awe is still there and will never fade.
Every day, I learn even more about you
and why I love you with all my heart.

I realize most men will never feel this.
If not for you, my life would be incomplete.
I would wander endlessly through time,
still searching for you while fighting temptations
to doubt you could even exist.

Nice love poem.. fully of gratitude for the one you love. Would have love to see you expand this, with another stanza or two, expressing why you love so deeply..
