Chorus of CalamityA Poem by BrianLoveA worldly perspective on life. I don't feel this way anymore, but I was pretty sad for a time...Lifeless eyes, heartless eyes. Watch them wane as time drifts
by. Haggard eyes, tortured eyes. Witness them whimper amid the
battle cry.
The war against aging never ailing,
The eyes see death all around, Only to realize that they are
mirrors. The sight of slaughter is merely
reflected. The eyes die, but refuse to cry Helpless eyes, hopeless eyes, Watch the destruction of their
own lives. They see the end, but do not cry.
Stare into them and witness your own
demise. Hush, don’t make tears--everyone
dies. Your droplets of sorrow aren’t
the cure. Your droplets of stress, so
demure. There is no remedy, There is no hope.
Your sanguine droplets of death
are the only ones that sincerely
fall. “Drip-drop, drip-drop” Like the beating of a heart. Like the tune of the metronome; a seemingly endless melody, that comes to an abrupt
halt. © 2015 BrianLove |
