I CONFESS TO IT

I CONFESS TO IT

A Chapter by Brian Kraklau

I lay down at night

swarmed by your image,

I wake in the morning

sighs of helpless contrite,

crawling through the door by lunch

I miss your touch,

by the evening I wish for our song

leading me back home,

back to the place I belong,

my heart so blue

my heart that wants to flee

will not be able to follow you

as you packed last night

ready to fly away to your destination,

i know you are right,

I know as well as anyone,

my heart is not welcome there,

upon the shores of love's free run,

oh I do hope for your return

dreaming of the day

when I will find you when you finally turn,

loving me till the end of my haze

singing with you by my side

for the rest of my days.
