ROSES UPON A GRAVE

ROSES UPON A GRAVE

A Chapter by Brian Kraklau

Roses that sit on your table whither and die

Just as the very life within us does the same

As the same roses that sit on the grave represent where we lay.

Her old, careing eyes were shut, away from the world

I remember her as she was, years ago when life was young

Caring hands that held me high when i was but a baby

but now her time has passed, her song has been sung.

Clear blue eyes, shut to the world for eturnity

Even now, I rememeber those summers, years ago

Wheer the home-made food was glorius and the stories never ended

Where I learned to just let go.

Tired eyes, full of wisdom, and years of life

Now I come to that same place

Where so many memories were born

And I don't know how to let go of her caring face.

Roses that sit on my table within my heart die

they all die as I see her for the last time

lowered into the bowles of earth

And now I have to learn to leave it all behind.
