ODE TO NOEL

ODE TO NOEL

A Chapter by Brian Kraklau

Touch me, my love

Touch me like you did that one night by the river long ago

Let me embrace your love once more, my love

Let me embrace your love like never before

For there’s no one around to even know.

That one, dreamlike night by the river hasn’t vanished from my heart

Even as I hold you so close now, under the moon-lit night

As if in a romantic play, we lead off into the night to let go of the world

To open our hearts to one another yet again

For even my hard and dark heart hasn’t been able to flee cupid’s dart.

Come on, my love

Let us fall asleep together under the stars of a billion years

Let the heavens see our love

Let it be renowned and shown throughout the world

Never let me go for I shall never let you go

Under this moonlit night, we can escape that world of pain

And let our love fly towards the sky above.

But, alas, this night of love will have to end

We will have to return to our separate beds

But our hearts will be with one another for that time to come again

Where we shall see one another again

On another moonlit night

Another time

And till that time, my love, I will miss you like I’ve lost my own right arm

For I love you more than any other,

My fiancé.
