I'M READY

I'M READY

A Chapter by Brian Kraklau

The moon shines in the quiet and black sky

It shines with wordless beauty

As the world below, all shaded in black, is silent with awe

The moon shines down upon the world

And just for a little bit, the world becomes at peace

Like a sigh of relief, the wind blows

As it blows the grass waves like hair in a peaceful wind

A lone figure in the distance watches

Eyes of love and a soul of great wisdom

The night-gown flows in the wind like the grass

Her eyes wander up to that big and beautiful moon

And with her old lips, worn of words

She whispers

“I’m ready.”
