I KNOW THE WORDS, I KNOW YOUR DREAMS

I KNOW THE WORDS, I KNOW YOUR DREAMS

A Poem by Brian Kraklau

my eyes are open, yet i dont see, my hands are right beside me, yet i cant move, all of you lean and look in, im sweating, yet im so cold, why cant you hear my voice, why cant i hear you, the lights all around flash, i walk through the door, once more.

the band is ready, waiting for me, the lights on stage are bright in my eyes, the crowd all around reach out at me, screaming my name, as if i should bend forward and pull them up out of their own lives and save them from their impending doom, the band begins to play.

i wake with a startle, your still there, by my side, why, after everything, after all my hard work, i lay here, what happened, and then, once more, i close the door.
