GOODNIGHT

GOODNIGHT

A Poem by Brian Kraklau

as i lay down to dream i wish for the next sun rise to be an awakening from a deep slumber, oh how i miss that deep comfort far into the wraps of my comforter, you see that window tonight, all full of frost, tonight is a great night of dreams, far in the recesses of our minds, so will we remember this i think not, for this is only for the moment, we love these sparks in the night, bringing the warmth in the cold, dark, night, oh babe i will see you on the morrow, when the sun rises tomorrow i will see, i will breath, and walk this night again. so goodnight and take it easy, heres a kiss goodnight for all you ladies, and heres a tip of the hat for all the bros out there, but if the night gets lonely for any of you fine babes, give me a shout, goodnight.

A little charmer you are!....a lovely, warming, comforting and very charming read which made me smile
...I do hope that you end up getting a few shouts from some fine babes during the course of the long, cold and lonely night...sleep tight!

I was smiling as I came to the end of this poem. I thought by the title this was going to be a sad poem but instead I found it making me smile and laughing at the last couple of lines. Nice write. Cold winter nights are meant for cuddling. Good night.

Nice. I liked this. It's almost like a decree of sorts. You control the cadence of the piece well by keeping it flowing without breaks and overall it flows very very well. You invoke some nice imagery with your words. I also like the hidden little internal rhyme in the piece. The length of it is quick enough to hold your attention and not so long as to loose it. Very nice!
