FOOL AS YOU ALL ARE HERE I STAND

FOOL AS YOU ALL ARE HERE I STAND

A Poem by Brian Kraklau

When you look at me in view of perception
I can and will tell you of your own deception
I have seen your own fear take hold
Through this you and many others still stand
Denying the fool you all have become to be so
And even still when the wall continues to grow
All of you still stand in upon your pedestal
Boldly waving your burning flag in the wind
While I repress myself from pulling the veil
For such horrors drowned in shrouded glory
To let the beasts consume with such fury

However

For those which choose to see my teeth
Will not only find a child distorted by terror
But a man silently watching this camp fire
As those around me take that leap inside
I lean back recline in my chair
Laughing at such a foolish pride.
