I'm Sorry

I'm Sorry

A Poem by Bria Si'mone

I'm sorry
I'm sorry you don't claim me.

I'm sorry I've never met your mother and you never attempt to try

I'm sorry that you're never wrong and you don't care if you make me cry.

I'm sorry that you tell me I'm too sensitive, and screaming at me is my fault.

I'm sorry that it's always something I did

I'm sorry that you don't fully accept me for who I am, yet I must accept and respect you and who you are

I'm sorry that I don't love myself enough to take up for myself all the way.

I'm sorry that I would rather go with the flow and swallow my pride, just to be around someone who won't stand by my side when I ask them

I'm sorry that once again, I have allowed myself to love someone that refuses to put themself in my shoes, and talks down to me when they're frustrated.

I'm sorry that I sit on the couch and watch you play games for hours.

I'm sorry that I watch the shows you suggest, but you won't even give my interests a chance...

I'm sorry you don't actually love me enough to see that this is killing my soul

I give what I can to you and it's not big deal when you choose not to reciprocate
