~Fallen From Grace~A Poem by JBWritten in conjecture with James Hemphill. :)Turmoil, It takes grasp of my sanity. Holding tightly to the reigns of my future, Pushing me ever so close to that ridgid edge.
Life, It takes one hell through past memories, To push me close to that ridgid edge. These demons of mine, That I have fought over the years, Have won over my mind.
Like the seering pain of a hot blade, The past floods over me, All at once ripping from me, All shades of humanity. Leaving the shell of what once was. Returning to ash and dust.
The monstrosity is what I see, When I look in the mirror, The ugliness Is what I've become, After all that I have done.
Clarity, Like a cancer, Spreads through the synapses of my mind. Leaving in its path the victim, my optimism. Driving me further to self-extinction.
Angels look down in tears, knowing they've lost one of their kind. The kind within me, That cried as well.
A broken record of dishonesty, Repeating remnants, no mysteries. Held proud in a case for all to see, As God's warning to all humanity. © 2011 JBAuthor's Note
