Mortal CoilA Poem by William MA poem about suicide.I feel the metal against my flesh. It longs for me to hold it, rest my finger on the trigger. I feel its power, its cold embrace. Within its chambers is the ability to take me to another place.
I feel its pulse or is that just the beat of my own quickening heart? Does it know I can so easily tear it apart? All its pain from life can be erased… …as I make my escape.
As I put it to my head… …My mortal soul coils in fear. The house, its harbor will soon be dead. And with it all the memories it held dear.
This life isn’t worth the pain. So it’s done now for better or worse. All the pain and misery is slain. And so ends life’s curse.
