You're a CarerA Poem by Brett PritchardA short piece, celebrating the hard working men and women of the care sector. You're a carer. Each day you tolerate the intolerable. You clean up what others wouldn't. You can be shouted at, screamed at, perhaps sometimes misunderstood. You start early, you finish late, and you exhaust yourself in the hours between. Some days it can seem so hard. But still you're always there..... You're a carer. Each day you achieve the impossible. You make miracles happen, reaching past an illness to see the human being beyond and reminding them that they're still a person. You're a listening ear, a supporting hand, you're a lifeline. The days can be long but what you manage to do during those hours is nothing short of a miracle. There isn't a day that you face this that doesn't make someone happy. There isn't a day that isn't worth it. You're a carer and the kindness you've shown, the support you've offered, and the dedication you have are a contribution shall live forever..... © 2023 Brett PritchardAuthor's Note
