One Hundred and Three Years Later

One Hundred and Three Years Later

A Poem by Brett Hernan

Talking to the guy
on TV.
Teeth like chips, discarded
from McDonald's as they were
too hard, yellow-brown and
over-cooked.
He thought,
that she would be pleased,
to know that,
no other woman
had been looked upon
by his eyes,
in the same manner
in which he
had gazed at her,
ever since
they had
parted company.
