Charades

Charades

A Poem by Brett Hernan

first syllable

glass tooth

roof diamond
juice

orange

juice
concentrate

truce

made to regroup
forced to reroute

rewiring,
exactly,

A
century ago

To return

It back

Readying
the kill
switch.

Multi-meter
in hand.

On express
command

To ensure
that

It remains.

When required.

Out
of
hand.

flute, chute,

pecan,
galoot,

gala,

gallah,

Midnight
Rendezvous,

Under street light.

Roadside business deal.

In open,
car boot

Suit,
recruit,
revolt,

mute,
newt, eye of,
(storm),

salute,
pollute,

Try or Buy.
On hire.

Your very own.

Type of

Plastic fruit.

I have a room.
In which grows,

A Grey Gloom

A circus poster,
with,
Kurled Korner,

Shadow
Beneath

Where

The wall.
It meets

In lime
green, grass green,
sea blue and blonde
girls' lipstick red.

On strawberry
whipped,
cream-pink.

Clown's
face.

Pocket-operated,
by hidden, rubber
squeeze-bulb?

Solution?

A squirting,
plastic,
lapel-flower.
