Explaining Tears to a Child

If
crying
changed
any
thing,
everyone
would be
crying,
all of
the time.

But,
they aren't,
because the only
things which make
one cry
are those
which one
can
not
change.

The only way
to stop
crying about
something
is to try
to change
it,
and,
if,
you can't,
then you'll just
have to learn
to
stop
crying.

Many people learn
how to give up
crying, regardless.

This
is why
there exist
some types
of crying
that
do not
involve tears.

I like your avatar too. It says it something poignant about what we may evoke when writing and where it comes from.
(Of course, some writers' typewriters probably wouldn't be so floral, (unless there were such a bloom as one might culture from seeds somehow harvested from the blackest night!)

Computers are really just a form of typewriter, anyway. And they're quite noisy to most everyone else.
Also, the computer-typewriter is a far more direct device than the original, hammered keystroke, ribbon press types, as there are none of those irksome delays to publish. (Plus, you don't need any stamps!)

Yes, that devicet can fit the romantic notions of a writer's sensibilities,, often, very well, as the majority of previous history's literary canon proves quite substantially.

Whereas, the android phone keyboard, designed to implode, is, inferior.
(Apart from the, sometimes, irritating to others, but often, completely satisfying sound suppression factor, (as, it is a pleasure, to physically hear the sound of each of the letters in the words of one's work, being signified, as they audibly resound, most assuredly).
How many vintage, still operable touch screen 'smart' phones will exist intact in a century's time, as opposed to the mechanical typewriter?

Harsh brevity- the facts of life for a child. If you cry, the world shouts-"Shut up!" More often than not. Just the way it is. Those who can,change things. Those who can't, cry without tears....

As kids usually don't- ha!:) As long as we live, we're there to catch them when they fall. Teach, catch and hold them when they cry...oh yeah-and hold our breath!
