The Magician

The Magician

A Poem by Brett Hernan

On the verge
of the final morsel
of cheeseburger
being consumed...
"Oh, so you've finished eating that, now?"
"No.
I was about to regurgitate it,
whole,
and then commence
eating it
again
,
right in front of you,
as a magic trick,
but now,
you've spoiled
the surprise."
