Old Beach

Old Beach

A Poem by Brett Hernan

Rib cages
long since
abandoned
rotted
away
hulls
of ships
stuck
in river's edge
mud
there
centuries before.

Great metaphor and haunting imagery- "rib cages"-"rotted away hulls of ships"....ancient history stuck in ancient mud like beached dinosaurs, to remind us.... Love this.
