My Lover

My Lover

A Poem by Brett Hernan

My mistress has been
my constant companion.
For but a few nights
have we ever
parted company.

Her name
is;
'Television'.

An interior
lit box
in which
pictures move.

She's beautiful!

(But,

you know,

I don't think

she
really

loves
me...
any
more.)

I'm sure

some
one else

is

seeing
her.

Witty. I loved this. There isn't enough of this kind of writing on here, writing with humour is difficult. Your punch line was bang on.
