The Space Alien

The Space Alien

A Poem by Brett Hernan

Little boy on play-date.
Other kid,
scared of him.

He doesn't know
he's an alien.

Sits in the dark
and says,
"I must go home."

I had no idea what the actual story line of the film ET was, having never seen it apart from once on video whereupon the initial watched moments of it barely held my interest and sent me scurrying and falling asleep in a very quick manner.
Years later, I recvd three free tickets to it's 25th anniversary screening and at the picture theater, accompanied by my two teenage friends, I once again found myself nothing short of insanely drowsy to the point whereby I lay across three seats, (since they had raisable arm rest seat dividers) which I stretched out upon, bed like, it being right at the beginning of the file sharing pirate torrent epidemic, and therefore the movie-house was only sparsely populated and there were empty rows everywhere, whereupon I slept once again throughout the entire screening. Judging from my companions faces, evidentally I snored too.

This kinda describes E.T. the movie, Brett. I'd like to see it expanded to differentiate it.
:)
