(First draft)
I truly am uncool. But I'm sure you're cool with this.
It's all cool, man. Once there was no such thing as 'cool' and no one was 'cool'. Every one was square- L7. Now, we' all cool, are we not? Once, the only people who were allowed to say, 'cool', were hippies, rock stars, bohemians and visiting wealthy Europeans and Americans in Paris in the year nineteen nineteen (and beyond). Then came people like Jack Kerouac and his pals, (although I can't imagine Mr. Kerouac using the term more than once or twice). Then the beatniks 'got' it too, and select nineteen fifties AM radio station disc jockeys as well, also. You know what it was that made every one turn cool? It was Fonzie, from TV's 'Happy Days'! This was, because beneath his kingly exterior, it was fairly obvious that the actual actor who played the character of Fonzie had been chosen because he really wasn't someone who probably ever used the term 'cool' in any manner similar to that of Fonzie in real life. (With no offense intended to Henry Winkler since it's rude to claim someone was 'uncool', these days. But, he's someone who's so cool that he probably is totally cool with a claim like that, anyway!) So, after Fonzie, everyone thought, subconsciously, 'You know, there's really nothing that sacred about the word, 'cool' that now stops me from using it, too! Especially since its been on TV. Plus, I will become cool purely through the fact that I use the term so loosely around others!' Then, it just reached saturation point through the world-wide, global-media, socially engineering information repository we call the 'Internet', and, wow, now, we're all cool, man!
Dude! This is freakin' COOL!
Loved it...loved the rambling, thoughtful voice...the quirky observations and references...the coolness factor of this one is 100%! It's definitely coolerific. Coolerific is the next generation of cool...I'm raising the platform, don't cha know!

It was interesting, adding humor to a history lesson. More or less, the history of being cool I guess? There were a couple of sentences that could have been condensed to make more sense. A prime example is "This was, beneath..."

haha this made me laugh, I use the word "cool" way too much now you mention it.... in reaction to making plans "yeah cool see you there" or someone asking how the night out went "yeah it was cool, everyone was cool" and so on - great observation and a cleverly written poem, I loved it, well done.

Thanks a lot KT. Incidentally, I wasn't trying to pick on anyone in particular in regard to the contemporary current practice within our Western society to express almost every other human sentiment of favour within the expression of the word, (then again, 'Happy Days' was filmed before a live studio audience and has been translated into probably at least 53 different languages and played at least once in every position of the earth which receives the transmission of television signals, so maybe everyone's seen Fonzie and there's every chance we're experiencing a global epidemic of 'cool'.
I did feel like I might be singling out people who use the expression way too much, but it was only because it became so glaringly obvious to me when the term is used in the manner in which you've described. I didn't want anyone to feel like I was picking on them, since I kind of am really, but without any intentional malice.
I sincerely hope your vocabulary improves KT, if you feel you use the word way too often.
I know I've heard it too often!
If one proactively reactivates the part of their brain lain dormant by the 'cool' phenomena within our culture's contemporary use of language and it's effects upon the individual's own language patterns then that can only be a good thing in terms of exercising psychological musculature. Thanks for telling me you liked it and for your encouragement KT.

It's not that bit a deal is it? I think it's kinda cool... hahaha only joking - best wishes to you
