Chapter 4: Silver Moon Unleashed

The next morning, we got up pretty early to attend the weekly school meeting that happened only once on Wednesdays. All the students, including the high-ranked seniors, were expected to attend the meeting. I got up, got dressed and had breakfast. Tarrynkora and I shared the same room, so I would at least see him at the end of the day if I hadn’t seen him during the day, mostly because we were put in different classes. Tarrynkora and I met up with the rest of the werewolf newcomers and made our way towards the brick, the large area where the assembly will be held. Along the way, I saw Cody and Oblivion, the new friends I had made whilst taking the first test in Mr. Philix’s class.

Whilst walking towards the brick, we could already see the large building from a distance: it looked like a giant, white cube in the middle of a few smaller buildings the school used for the classes. It didn’t have any patterns or colours on it. It didn’t even have windows, which made me wonder how the inside was lit. When we finally got inside, the building started to look more interesting than the outside. The inside was filled with thousands of seats that went around the whole room. There were at least more than a hundred rows going down from the very top of the building. One could also notice a few odd things about the interior of the place: one quarter of the seats was coloured black and the other three quarters were all white. The seats all surrounded the centre of the building, which was a large, square platform no smaller than a basketball court. I decided to sit in the middle: I hate sitting at the very back, I couldn’t see much from back there, or sitting at the front, it draws all attention to me. To my right, was a blond headed elf, a girl by the looks of it and to my left was, what seemed to be, a transparent boy, but he too was wearing a uniform with the school badge on it. He wore a white, long sleeved shirt and long, white pants. The girl to my right was wearing a sort sleeved shirt and a white mini skirt. She wore long socks that went all the way up and over her knees. Her hair was tied back in a pony tail with a white hair scrunch. The guy to my left had dark brown hair, though his hair was so transparent, I could barely tell if it was the right colour.

In the middle of the large platform, was another platform, this one was a bit higher and smaller than the overall platform. In the middle of the smaller platform, were seven, large thrones. The middle throne was higher than the others and had gold arm rests, legs and back rests. The rest of the middle throne was black and the other thrones were all white with silver arm rests, back rests and legs. After a few minutes of waiting, the four, empty thrones were soon filled by the four active members of the Genko Society; Sir Ketto, Sir Pharaoh, Sir Marinkora and Sir Kurenzo. Not long after their arrival, came the headmaster of F.A.A himself, Lord Meyio, who then sat in the black and golden throne. Each of the thousands of white chairs was filled by a different student and the black seats by the teachers and staff of Five Arrows Academy.

When the whole school had gathered around the platform, the assembly would begin. Lord Meyio stood up and addressed the assembly as follows; “Ladies and gentlemen. Werewolves, Elves, Vampires, Pixies and Ghosts, all the creatures of Roviera,” he started, before he continued on saying, “I have great news and terrible news. The great news is that the tournament’s location and date has yet not been changed.” When he had said this, every student in the brick broke into cheer and applause. This was soon stopped when Lord Meyio went on saying, “The terrible news, is that I have received information from FA.A staff stating that some of our students have claimed to have been attacked by some kinds of beasts, during the past few days. We have yet to discover the bests’ identities. Sources say that these strange attackers all wore the same silver capes, the same capes as the ones worn by members of the dangerous group of assassins known as Silver Moon, a cult lead by a former member of the F.A.A staff. Members of Silver Moon have been known to wear the same silver capes, so we suspect that this maybe the same group of people behind the attacks. If that much is true, I regret to inform you that we may be all in grave danger”. Finally everything began to make sense. Maybe that woman who had attacked us earlier was a member of these Silver Moon folks.  She best fitted the description: she’s not the usual type of creature you’d find at F.A.A, she attacked that pixie girl and I, and no one has yet seen her face. The only last piece of evidence I’d need to truly say it was her was proof that she had a silver cape on at the time. I hadn’t seen her figure that well before she attacked me, but maybe the pixie girl I found paralysed against a tree might have seen her before she was attacked. It couldn’t hurt to ask. I decided that after the meeting, I would confront Lord Meyio and tell him about the lady I had seen in the survival test, he’ll probably want to know about that.

Lord Meyio continued on with the assembly, telling everyone about upcoming events, weekly challenges and other news of F.A.A, but I didn’t pay attention to any of that. The only thing that was on my mind was the name Silver Moon and the strange woman that attacked us. Not long after Lord Meyio had finished with his speech, the assembly had ended and all the students were dismissed. At that moment, I brought along Cody, Tarrynkora, Oblivion, Siren and Ryuki to the ‘open area’, the large space in which all the students went after/between classes. I’ll explain to them how I wanted to find out who the Silver Moon’s leader, thinking they could help me.

“Ok, so far we know that they wear silver capes. I encountered a woman with the same cape in the first survival test. She was able to weaken me up to the point that I changed back to my human form and then somehow he managed to wrap a large python around me so I couldn’t move,” I said. “We have to look out for signs of snakes, Silver capes and…” “Wait,” said Ryuki. “Did you say Silver capes, because the men that attacked Siren and I wore the same kind of capes.” At this moment, all that we knew for sure was that some members of Silver Moon had also been around Earth. “Ok,” I said. “Tarrynkora and I will go tell Lord Meyio about the snake woman who attacked that pixie and I during the first test. Oblivion and Cody; you two go talk to Sir Demetrius and ask him if he or Sir Philix had meant for the snake lady to be one of the tests. Siren and Ryuki, I want you two to keep a close eye on Ominous and the other vampires; I suspect that they may have something involved with Silver Moon.”  “You just want us to spy on Ominous because you hate him,” said Ryuki. “No, it’s just that we were once attacked by the vampires earlier this season and I think they might’ve been sent by a member of Silver Moon, that’s all,” I replied, when in fact I really just wanted to spy on Ominous. When everyone knew what they had to do, we split up.

Tarrynkora and I were on our way to Lord Meyio’s office; then suddenly, we were stopped by Sir Kurenzo: F.A.A’s best duelling instructor and a member of the highly respected Genko Society. “Where do you think you’re going?” he asked. “We have a question for Lord Meyio,” I said, hoping he wouldn’t ask what the question was. Thankfully he didn’t, instead he simply smiled at us and said, “Ok then, off you go. Enjoy the rest of your day boys,” and went on the other direction. We went on ahead and soon reached lord Meyio’s office. I wasn’t surprised to see that the colour of his door was purple. There was a sign on the door that read: Lord Meyio’s office, enter at your own risk. Strangely, I wasn’t intimidated by it at all, though a bit curious to find out why he had put that up there. I knocked on the door, and shortly after I heard, “Come in”, so I opened the door and went in.

Inside, the interior of the room was coloured in all the different shades of purple. Across the room, was a large, purple desk and behind it, a big, lavender office chair. There was a large glass wall that showed a view of the large forest that surrounded the school. Lord Meyio was lucky to be able to see such a wonderful view whilst on the job. Sitting in the chair, was Lord Meyio himself.  He spun around to face us, smiled and said, “Hello there students. What brings you hear to my quarters?” Tarrynkora and I looked at each other, right before answering at the same time, “We want to know more about the missing Genko member.” Lord Meyio’s smile dropped to a frown. “My friends Siren and Ryuki were attacked by two strange men with the same silver capes you mentioned, before we came to F.A.A,” I paused, then continued saying, “I was also attacked, whilst taking the first survival test all new bloods must take, by a serpent-like lady. She also wore a silver cape with a hood covering her head.” “Here at Five Arrows Academy?” asked lord Meyio. “Yes,” I answered. “But the first attack happened in the forest of nightmares, near a lake back on Earth.” At this point I could tell that both Lord Meyio and I were now more curious about these Silver Moon members, but first; Lord Meyio explained to Tarrynkora and I about the missing Genko member.

He started off by saying, “To fully understand who the missing Genko member is, you must first know the history of the Genko society itself and the history of its members. In the early years of the school’s establishment, the five strongest teachers of F.A.A formed a small group within the school and called it, the Genko Society. These five teachers were considered to be the strongest staff at Five Arrows Academy, at the time. The leader, Ketto, was the Alpha male of the former strongest wolf pack that back then was known as the Kett™ Ambros pack, though today there aren’t any of them left, Ketto is the last remaining purebred of that pack of werewolves, making him the strongest werewolf there is. The reason behind their extinction, was that many of their descends went and mated with other werewolves that weren’t of the same species as them and thus the next generation of the Kett™ Ambros pack hadn’t it’s pack’s full abilities. Ketto’s parents were the only werewolves, from the same pack, to mate. When they died, their purebred son Alexia Ketto became the only purebred from the Kett™ Ambros pack and thus became the strongest werewolf alive. Marinkora, the second Genko member, was the Sage of all the elf tribes combined. He got his title when his father, the former sage of the elves, died and the role was passed down onto him. To be a sage of all the elf tribes combined, you must be the smartest. It is said that a long time ago, a spirit king called Kora ruled the Earth long before Humans set foot on it. It is said that Kora had knowledge and powers near those of a god’s: he able to bring the dead back to life and could communicate with those who had passed away. He was said to be immortal, but was rendered mortal by the gods after he tried to switch bodies with an elf. He lost his god-like powers, but not all of them. He still had knowledge about life and the afterlife that no other elf on earth knew about, so he taught his descends all he knew and they passed that knowledge down to the next generation and then to the next. No other elf, apart from those in Kora’s tribe knew about this information, so that is why they became the most powerful elf tribe in the world. When Kora died, his eldest son Bathidas became the new sage of all the elf tribes combined. It is said that the oldest child of the current sage becomes the next, so when Tobias Marinkora’s dad died, he became the next sage of all the elf tribes.  The third Genko member, Arathis Pharaoh, was and is the Pharaoh of the phantom ghosts of Egypt. He got his title after his father, Synn, died. The fourth Genko member was and is the Count Dracula of the vampires. He got the title when his father died. Sadly, I don’t know about the fifth Genko member, though Ketto might know more about him than I. All I know is that he was banished from the school and the Genko Society, for turning himself into a Hybrid; a combination of a vampire and a werewolf. He left the school and the Genko Society and formed a group of his own. This group has come to be known as; Silver Moon. No one knows where he left to and no one knows whether he’s still alive or not, but the recent news of some of the Silver Moon’s members attacking students of F.A.A means that he’s back.” I looked at Tarrynkora; he was just as shocked as I was. Not only was this man once a member of the Genko, but he is a hybrid werewolf? This means he must be as strong as Lord Ketto and Lord Kurenzo put together. “We’ll let you know if we see any of the Silver Moon’s members,” I told lord Meyio. “Ok, but don’t get in too much trouble you two, they are truly the most dangerous creatures in the world and have unbelievable powers,” he replied. We left the office that day and went to our next classes. Tarrynkora had Combat knowledge with Sir Demetrius and I had creature studies with Madam Rosé.
