Let Me BeA Poem by BrentleyA poem about the treachary of cancer. The sounds vibrated from his lips as he spoke the words I try to listen and fail each time. The words bounce from time to time Singing their imploring doom, Their soft melancholy haunts all I know. The weed extends into my brain, Suffocating the last words I know. My face, my hands even my feet, They all became a mystery. My brain goes numb, goes stiff and vain, I feel the cries of those in pain. Extend the pain from my own heart, Let it all go dark. Pulls the plug, And now it’s done.
