Train To Nowhere

Train To Nowhere

A Poem by Brenden Moran

I needed time to forget myself and get away from the day

I wanted a moment where I could slip away and play

I found my way to a train and cozied into a seat alone

Then reached out the window and tossed out my phone

The train started and I felt her chug and choo rumble within me

I leaned into the window to watch the dull collage sea

Then the scenes became unfamiliar and naught was bleak

And I longed to run my fingers through the fresh and beautiful streaks

The train slowed into nowhere and that was my stop

Slowly I made my way to the exit and down I hopped

Twas only me and nobody else there under the sun

So I spread out my arms and spun in circles letting the colors run

I then made my way onto the tracks and began to tip toe somewhere

I wanted a new purpose and wondered how I would fair

And as that train passed me again in her colorful way

I looked into the sky and saw a new day
