Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by Hayden Chambers

The blaze of a sunset

Shooting across the sky

Final rays of day

Illuminating the hills

The last chance

As night draws in

Regrets flooding back

Leading us ever homewards

Hopes of a thousand years

Nestled within, lying dormant

Heather on the moors sing

With whispers of the past

This age old show, playing again.

On the surface serene

A raging torrent underneath

Hidden depths, hidden strengths

And time and life go on. And we are just passing through and will leave all those sunsets in our wake. Beautiful work.
