The Symphony

The Symphony

A Poem by BreannaAutumn

I could hear the world's heart
its pulse thumping in symphony
with my own
with everyones
The earth is not my enemy
but the world is
Every day I fight for this soil
beneath my feet
and within me
to grow and mold
to bend with the winds
I find no trouble in that
Unless it's artificial
unless mankind presented it
As if these trees
are more complicated than they seem
why must we fight our genetics
to be different
Why can't we lay on this terrain
and melt into its norm
Why can't I vibrate inside of this skin
` Is it so wrong to believe
that Earth and World can live
within the same sentence harmoniously
with a capital
and a period
and a nice beat
to go along with it.
