Memories

Memories

A Poem by Breezy

I glide along the steady beach
As waves thrash upon the shore.
Caressing memories I must not keep,
I pray them leave me forevermore.

For many a year I held your hand,
In times of peace and times of war.
I thought for sure our love would stand,
Like sand upon a midnight shore.

But now the sand has washed away,
The shore erodes to weak embrace.
Just like our love it could not last,
And now I pray you leave me fast.

I pray,

Oh waters thrash upon my feet,
Please take these memories I must not keep.
Take them for your selfish game,
Take them for a rainier day.

Take my memories and hide them deep,
Deep in sea where secrets lay.
Hide them here forevermore,
And I will wait, along the shore.
