The Place Where Secrets Are Kept

The Place Where Secrets Are Kept

A Poem by Breeza

The doors groan in their pain
and squeal
as though bitten.
Windows......leak tears out of glassy eyes,
and the animal rolls over,
for one last scratch.

Shiny silver light switches
Blink- Startled.
They don’t know.
They weren’t here.
But they watch, from the place,
where secrets are kept.

The heart bleeds,
 a river...
down front steps.
Anaemic.

The house shuts its front door
and hardens.
Waiting for something pure......
or the end of eternity.

Wow, I read this poem for like five times.
You should seriously think about postin' in some contests pal, you really got style.
The theme of inner emptiness is very used in poetry but very rarely in such an original manor ( especially in the last strophe ).
I like the concept of the place were the secrets are keptbut I'm not sure I completely grasped it :P. Do you mean the secrets of lovingin the right way?

I really liked the qualities given to inanimate objects. If walls could talk...
Here, everything sees and speaks in its own way. Wonderfully done!

So powerfully moving, vivid in your landscape of a world passed by... A world now forgotten sitting locked and alone yet full of the secrets of lives long gone... Amazing in every way!

Wonderful imagery. Love the way you use a house for the emptiness.
