Lake of Fire

Lake of Fire

A Poem by Bree Orlock
"

a poem I wrote about crossing the river Styx

"

In the underworld there

Is a lake of fire, on its shore

Connecting to our side there

Is a pier made out of bones

All those visitors that  come

Upon this pier, do so with a

simple ancient coin

Eventually the ferryman, ‘Charon”

Will come to this pier to take

The visitors to the other side

Of the river Styx

His ancient robes are black,

Just as is his cloak, his boat is

Made out of the bleached bones

of the unworthy to pass to the

other side; the elysian fields

Just to step onto his fearful

Boat, you must pay him his

Due, and he will carry you

across

When you get to other side

he will say

“ My Mission is done, and yours

Has just begun. Now it is

Time that I ferry thy self

Away. To  ferry some other

Passenger, next some day.”

Ah yes... the endless river...

Of time, and death... and souls.

I always found very amusing the Christian faith about the Resurrection of the Dead.

I mean... the Earth is already so over-populated... imagine all the people or many... returning from all times to present time...

I mean even... if such was ever possible...

Most of them that were considering our age and time already insane...

Well... they would go insane just looking at a damn plasma tv, computer, car or even a plane.

Don't mind me... I enjoy annoying certain people. Keep them on their toes... a little bit.

;)

Great poem!!!
