Lake of FireA Poem by Bree Orlocka poem I wrote about crossing the river StyxIn the underworld there Is a lake of fire, on its shore Connecting to our side there Is a pier made out of bones
All those visitors that come Upon this pier, do so with a simple ancient coin
Eventually the ferryman, ‘Charon” Will come to this pier to take The visitors to the other side Of the river Styx
His ancient robes are black, Just as is his cloak, his boat is Made out of the bleached bones of the unworthy to pass to the other side; the elysian fields
Just to step onto his fearful Boat, you must pay him his Due, and he will carry you across
When you get to other side he will say “ My Mission is done, and yours Has just begun. Now it is Time that I ferry thy self Away. To ferry some other Passenger, next some day.”
