7 sins

7 sins

A Poem by Lino Rie

Pride, he looks at others with disgust.

He thinks he’s better than all of us.

He’s like a lion with a main,

Shows off what we can not gain.

Envy, she is jealous

She wants the things you hold dearest.

She can’t let you have your moment.

She’ll try to be your replacement.

Gluttony, he likes to consume and overdo.

He’ll take and take yet he wont spew.

He would engorge till he pops.

Maybe he shouldn’t drink that much cola.

Lust, she moves like a doe.

But the thing you must know

Is that she’s just try to tempt you.

Remember, she’ll just go for the next goon.

Anger, he is violent.

He will make you hit the pavement.

Thrashing around like some bull in a pen.

He really needs to work things out again.

Greed, she loves shiny things.

She would sell you for a gold ring.

She prefers to strike it rich.

I wonder when she'll hit the ditch.

Sloth, He is lazy many say.

Maybe he should go out and play.

He should stop that channel surfing.

Before he loses his life to sleeping
