PrologueA Chapter by BriannaN/AThe lights began to flicker on and off. Hysterical beeping came from the computer, pop-ups from god-knows-where kept telling me that it was only 20, 19, 18 more seconds until the ejection would take place. What ejection? Ever since Quinn put that god damn virus on the computer these stupid things would remind me how many hours, minutes, seconds it would be until the grand "ejection." I was so close to checking the dictionary because I only vaguely knew the definition of 'ejection.' Eject was the button I'd press when I wanted to take a DVD out of the player. So something wanted to remove itself from my computer then. 7, 6, 5 seconds left. I glanced down at the tower where the CD slot was but obviously it wasn't something as pointless as a CD that came out of the computer. It was so much better. It was Aubrey Morris, and from the look on his face, he was feeling the same way I was: confused and completley oblivious to what just happened. © 2011 Brianna |
