Small

Small

A Poem by Brennaj

You walk into a room
Demanding eyes
searching seas of faces
for returned smiles
stopping briefly to connect
your feet
to the ground
making sure that you
are indeed flattening
the air that separates you
from us
your body moves with purpose
never fumbling
for placement in our universe
your fingers
demand room
to spread and touch
never contracting to feel
small
Nothing about you is small
except for maybe the way you make me feel
I am big, but beside you
my presence is
miniscule
