A Lone Swing

A Lone Swing

A Poem by Breana Seabrooks

Somewhere in nowhere,
There sits a lone swing.
With a lone girl.
Swinging alone.
No family,
No friends.
People walk pass.
They don't see her.
She hangs her head low.
Hair covering her face.
She is a lone girl,
On a lone swing,
In the middle of nowhere.
The mist closes in on her,
Enveloping her,
Taking her with it.
And like dust,
The lone girl,
On the lone swing,
Disappears.

Nice poem :) ... I especially liked the first line: "Somewhere in nowhere." The ending was quite strong as well.

Oh, my, the despair is thick as molasses. I've felt a lot like that before; alone, unnoticed and irrelevant to the point of disappearing. Things can't continue that way for long. Maybe she'll have to jump down from that swing and try something new.

I think this is rather good. The lone girl could be a metaphor for many things. To me she is that sad side of me which I have to keep hushed up. Look forward to reading more

It definitely has a creepy feel to it... I like it. No lie... when I read swing the first thing that comes to my mind is the woman who was pushing her dead 3 year old on a swing the other day so I think that thought adds to the creepiness of someone on a swing. I like the way you put it all together... good work :)
