Alone

Alone

A Poem by Breana Seabrooks

The sky is dark.
My house is darker.
I call for you,
But you don't answer.
I go in search of you,
And you are nowhere in sight.
It is for this reason that I cry.

Where are you?
Where did our time go?
Did we pass into the midnight sky,
Without a tear to cry?
Or did we choose our path,
And decide what's done is done?

Maybe I was stupid,
And maybe you were foolish.
We never had our chance.
Now I walk these darkened halls
Alone.

One day you'll come back,
And maybe I'll be ready.
But for right now,
Our paths should be steady.

I'll hold on tight.
Keep you in my mind,
And I'll miss you every day.

At night I'll dream of you,
And I hope you dream of me,

And maybe then, I won't be alone.

I thought it was great. It was laid out great as well. Keep it up.

Interesting format, a count down to the optimistic note at the end. You could tighten up a bit with the rhyming ,but nowadays that is not so important. I liked the poem. It reminded me of the poems I used to write when I was younger.
