Chapter 1- The beginningA Chapter by Breana Seabrooks
I heard the screaming voices around me. Some were telling me to leave now, while others contradicted. I was scared to be here, but I had to. If I didn't, then everyone's lives would be at stake. I had to do it. They wouldn't let me go free if I didn't. "You need to leave here," said the voice of a woman. She was tall, blonde, and didn't look the least bit like everyone else that was in here screaming out of their minds. "It's not a place for someone like you," she went on, "they'll have you alive." Before I could reply, the guards wisped me past her chamber door. 'What did she mean by that?' I thought to myself.
After passing what seemed to be about 50 doors, we had gotten to the end of the hallway. There was a door. It was big and heavy and appeared to be made of stone. One of the guards gently knocked on the stone door. A few moments passed by and the door opened. A young woman appeared. She was also tall. She had blonde hair. And she was wearing a smile that looked as though she could make anyone feel happy, but somehow I knew differently. She ushered me in. Leaving the three guards outside, she closed the door behind me. When I walked in, I noticed, there had been a few other people there. Some I noticed, some I didn't. My parents were the first two I had seen. They were the reason I had been here to begin with. I didn't know what was going on. Just that something was. I walked over to my mother, and saw that she had tears coming from her eyes. She never cried. Something mist have been wrong. Why would she be crying if there weren't? I turned and looked back to the woman, whom had greeted me at the door. She walked closer to my mother and me. Softly she ran her hand down my cheek. "The spitting image," she whispered looking back and forth, from me to my mother. Then she took me by the chin and turn my head, examining either side of my face. "Come with me," she said with a small hint of a smile. "Everything will be alright." I looked over to my parents, who both nodded for me to go on. My father's face showed no emotion, while my mother couldn't fight to keep the tears down. I followed the woman out, my mother right behind me. When we arrived the room, I saw two doctors standing at the foot of two beds, with several trays of medical equipment. I wanted to back out and run away. But it appeared as though the woman could read my mind. She closed the door behind me. "It's too late too run. Go. Lie on the beds. Both of you." I became scared for my life, which in hindsight, might have not been a bad idea. I looked over to mother, who had already gotten into one of the beds. I walked slowly over to the other one, and laid on it. Then the doctor strapped me down to it. My panic began to rise, to a physical point. Then a nurse walked in holding a needle. The last thing I remember after that was my mother, crying. Everything went black. © 2015 Breana SeabrooksAuthor's Note
