Poisoned LoveA Poem by Breaga O'CallaghanHistory will repeat...You hold the past
in your hands, Old beauty
preserved through time. I love you, yet
you remind me of my regrets, Mistakes I made,
and cannot deny. Your eyes gaze
through hers, Seeing me for
the first time. And history will
repeat itself, The fault, once
again mine. He stole your
heart, like he did with her, And it was me
whom you suddenly hated. But when you
weren’t around him, You became
confused and disoriented. And you
discovered you loved both of us, Each in a
different way. And although it
was a stupid choice, You wanted both
of us to stay. But the past
appeared in the present, And the past,
she did then die. You gave your
life for both of us, And the truth
was what became of that lie. Now I hold your
still body in my arms, The tears down
my cheeks freely flowing. And I would live
on, forever hating him, Not knowing that
in your heart, it was me you had chosen. © 2012 Breaga O'CallaghanAuthor's Note
