Soulless

Soulless

A Poem by Breaga O'Callaghan
"

What does it feel like to be trapped?

"

Free my soul

from this black hole

these thoughts of mine

locked in this shrine

your joy my pain

your pleasure my shame

I, hidden within

no longer live

Free my soul

my body forever controlled

give back my rights

my stolen sight

unlock my cage

release my rage

give back me

set me free

Free my soul

from behind this wall

my mind so weak

thoughts unable to speak

end my terror

remove this mirror

reflecting what I see

the monster that now is me

Free my soul

now so small

I sob, I plead

unable to beg on my knees

end my torture, my endless pain

release me from this life of shame

free me from this mess

don’t let me be forever soulless

A powerful poem. Had to find your soul when you lose it to misery and sadness. Take a long vacation and a new life sometime. I like the description and the desire of this poem. A strong ending to a excellent poem.
