The Worker: Tiller of the EarthA Poem by BrazosA tribute to farmers everywhere. The Worker: Tiller of the Earth
Oh, tiller of the earth, come see about me " Wild grain of the fields and the giant oak tree.
Come wriggle your toes in my soft loam, pushing your plough before heading home.
Wet my earth with rain from above, press your seed with hands of love.
Gather my bounty when fall abounds, give thanks up above for my leaves so proud. Stop at my brook and drink your fill, greet my fish with a voice not loud.
Oh, tiller of the earth, come see about me " Wild grain of the fields and the giant oak tree. © 2011 BrazosAuthor's Note
