Who is the Songbird?

Who is the Songbird?

A Poem by Brazos
"

A poem about a leading character in my life...the Songbird.

"

Who is the Songbird?

Who is the Songbird?

I am the Songbird.

Not the Songbird's cousin,

but the speaker of the word.

Twill be in the Spring

when I have my fling,

and many a day shall pass.

You'll hear the Songbird sing.

Listen for the trill

of the whip-poor-will,

perhaps you'll understand.

Look on your window sill.

Yes, I am the speaker of the word,

just me, the old Songbird.

Come, follow me along;

I am the Songbird.
