RATED PG
FOR CARTOON VIOLENCE… (The intro music to
Gold and Silver plays, but in an enhanced form. Pictures of the entire Pokémon
games scroll down the screen. First comes X and Y, then comes Black and White, then comes Diamond and
Pearl, and then comes Ruby and Sapphire. After that comes Gold and Silver. Then
it scrolls down to Red and Blue. Finally, it scrolls back up to Gold and Silver
and the two games shine brightly before everything disappears) (A white screen is
visible with a small rectangle in the top left corner. 2 options are available,
New Game and Options. A small arrow is sitting next to the New Game option. The
arrow moves down to Options before moving back up to New Game. The arrow fades
away followed by the screen itself) There is a
large room that is pitch black. After a second, multiple lights switch on, all
facing towards a man, Professor Oak, standing by himself… Prof Oak: Hello!
Sorry to keep you waiting! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Oak.
People call me Pokémon Professor. This world is inhabited by creatures that we
call Pokémon Oak reaches
around his back and grabs a Poke-ball from the back of his belt. He throws it
into the air. The ball suddenly opens and a Marill appears. It lands on Oak’s
shoulder. Oak catches the Poke-ball and pats the Marill on its head before
continuing to speak… Oak: This world
is inhabited by creatures that we call Pokémon. People and Pokémon live
together by supporting each other. Some people play with Pokémon and some
battle with them. Oak holds
the Poke-ball in front of him. The ball opens and Marill disappears into it.
Oak straps the ball back to his belt and continues to speak… Oak: But we don’t
know everything about Pokémon yet. There are still many mysteries to solve.
That’s why I study Pokémon every day. Oak: Now, the world
of Pokémon waits. Let’s get started… Everything
fades away before the view of a small town slowly fades onto the screen,
accompanied by the New Bark Town music. Two Pidgey’s fly through the sky. There
are 3 houses in this town and a large building. In one of these houses on the
top floor, a young man is putting his shoes on… His mother,
who is downstairs, calls out to him… Mother: Gold! I
need to see you! Gold: In a
second, mother! Gold finishes
putting his shoes on and grabs his hat before putting it on. He grabs his
backpack and puts it on his back before running down the stairs. Suddenly, Gold
trips and falls down the stairs… As he gets
to the bottom of the stairs, his mother quickly rushes to his side and helps
him stand up… Mother: Are you
alright, Gold? Gold: Yeah, I’m
fine Mother: You need to
start being more careful Gold: Sorry, I
was rushing. Anyway, what do you need to see me for? Mother: Well,
Professor Elm was looking for you. He wanted you to do something for him Gold: Alright, I’ll
head to the lab now His mother
suddenly runs to the table and picks up a silver device with a blank screen on
it… Mother: I almost
forgot, your Pokémon Gear came back from the repair shop. Here you go She hands
the gear to Gold who grabs it and stares at the screen… Mother: It’s also
known as the PokeGear. It’s essential for anyone who wishes to be a good
trainer. Oh, the date isn’t set on it yet Gold switches on the PokeGear and presses some buttons on the screen before spelling out Wednesday. After pressing some more buttons, he spells out 10:00 Am… Gold: Is it Daylight Saving right now? Mother: No, it’s
not Daylight Saving. But you should always come home and adjust your PokeGear
for Daylight Saving whenever necessary. Also, do you know how to use the phone? Gold: No, I don’t Mother: You just
turn on the PokeGear and select the phone icon. Phone numbers are stored in
memory. Just select a name to call that person Gold: Gee, isn’t
that convenient? Anyway, I’ll head to the lab now Mother: Ok, see you
soon Gold Gold places
the PokeGear in his backpack and rushes out the door before running towards the
large building. Before he runs to the door, Gold notices a young male with red
hair staring through the window to the lab. Curious, Gold walks over to the
male… Male: So this is the
famous Elm lab? He turns
and spots Gold before angrily storming over to him… Male: What are
you staring at?! He suddenly
pushes Gold away before walking back to the window. Gold wipes his clothes
before walking into the lab. Inside, 2 men in coats are sitting at computers
with pictures on Pokémon on them. A third man,
Elm, is standing next to a large machine. He has brown hair and is wearing
glasses… Elm: Gold, there
you are. I need to ask you for a favour He turns to
the machine. Inside are three Poke-balls. One has a leaf icon, one has a flame
icon and the third has a water droplet icon… Elm: I am
currently studying the bonds between people and Pokémon and I have discovered
something amazing. I have discovered that if a trainer was to travel around
with a Pokémon outside of its ball, the bond between the two would increase
even further then if the Pokémon was kept in its ball Gold: So what do
you need? Elm: Gold, what
I’m about to ask is very important. I want you to pick one of these three Pokémon
and go on a journey with it. What do you say? Gold is
shocked by the question. He looks at the Poke-balls in the machine and turns
back to Elm before nodding his head… Elm: Excellent,
now come over to the machine. You can now pick one of these Pokémon to travel
with you Elm’s
computer suddenly beeps. Elm rushes to the computer and looks at it… Elm: Wow! It’s
incredible Gold: What is,
Professor Elm? Elm runs past
Gold and stands next to the machine… Elm: I have a
friend who goes by the name, Mr Pokémon. He’s always finding rare things and
raving about his discoveries. Anyway, I just got an email from his saying that
this time, it’s real. It’s intriguing, but we’re busy with our research. Gold,
do you think you could go to Mr Pokémon and see what he found? Gold nods
his head. Elm points to the first ball. A picture of a green Pokémon appears on
a screen above the machine… Elm: This is
Chikorita, the grass Pokémon. Would you like to take Chikorita? After a few
seconds, Gold shakes his head… Elm: Alright, but
think it over carefully. Your new partner is important The picture
is replaced with a new picture but now it’s a part cream, part black Pokémon
with a flame on its back… Elm: This is
Cyndaquil, the fire Pokémon Gold: I like it,
but could I see the last one? Elm nods his head. The picture is replaced again but now it’s a blue Pokémon with sharp teeth… Elm: This is Totodile,
the water Pokémon. Which one would you like? Gold looks
at the three balls in the machine… Gold: It’s hard
to pick. I like Totodile because he looks powerful, but I also love fire types
and Cyndaquil is a fire type. Hmm, I think I’ll choose…Cyndaquil Elm nods
and grabs Cyndaquils ball before handing it to Gold… Elm: I think it’s
a great Pokémon, Gold Gold throws
the Poke-ball in the air. The ball opens and Cyndaquil emerges. It lands in
Gold’s arms and hugs him. Gold returns the hug in a happy mood… Elm: By the way,
you have the choice of giving your Pokémon a nickname. Would you like to give
Cyndaquil its own nickname? Gold looks
down at Cyndaquil who is happy… Gold: No thanks,
I like Cyndaquil Elm: Well then,
Mr Pokémon lives just above Cherrygrove, the next city He turns
and looks at a small machine near his computer… Elm: If your Pokémon
ever gets hurt, you can heal it with this machine He turns
back to Gold… Elm: Give me
your PokeGear Gold grabs
his PokeGear from his backpack and hands it to Elm. Elm pushes some buttons. A
small beep is heard. Elm hands the PokeGear back to Gold… Elm: I just put
my number in your PokeGear. Call me if something comes up Gold nods
his head. Cyndaquil jumps onto Gold’s shoulder. As Gold begins to leave the
lab, one of the aids steps away from his computer and walks to Gold… Aid: Here, I
want you to have this for your errand He grabs a
small spray bottle and hands it to Gold. Gold grabs the bottle and looks at it… Aid: There’s
just us 3, so we’re always busy. I’m sure you’ll find some use for that The aid
walks back to his computer. Gold exits the lab and walks towards a path that
leads towards Cherrygrove. The male with the red hair stares at Gold as Gold
walks away… (The journey to
Cherrygrove is presented as a montage. While travelling, a pidgey appears in
front of Gold. Gold orders Cyndaquil to attack. The pidgey is injured and
weakly flies away. Moments later, Gold encounters a rattata and orders
Cyndaquil to tackle it. Cyndaquil tackles the rattata, causing it to faint.
Gold runs and picks up Cyndaquil before hugging it) Soon
enough, Gold arrives in Cherrygrove city, a beautiful city with the water right
next to it. A building with a red roof is visible and a building with a blue roof
is right next to it… Gold enters
the building with the blue roof and walks over to a man behind a counter. He
purchases two of the same spray bottle that the aid had given him before
exiting the building and entering the building with the red roof… A lady with
pink hair, wearing a white dress, is standing behind a counter. She calls out
to Gold… Lady: Hello! Gold walks
over to the lady… Lady: Welcome to
our Pokémon Centre. We can heal your Pokémon back to perfect health. Shall we
heal your Pokémon? Gold nods
his head and looks at Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil jumps onto the counter. Gold grabs
Cyndaquils ball and places Cyndaquil back in the ball before handing it to the
lady. She places the ball in the slot of a machine and pushes a button. The
machine flashes a few times before switching off. The lady hands the ball back
to Gold… Lady: Thank you
for waiting. Your Pokémon is fully healed Cyndaquil
emerges from the ball and jumps back on Gold’s shoulder… Lady: We hope to
see you again Gold nods
his head before leaving the building. An old man quickly stands in front of
Gold… Man: You’re a
rookie, aren’t you? Gold seems
confused. The old man laughs… Man: It’s
alright, I can tell. Everyone is a rookie at some point Gold nods
his head. Cyndaquil looks at the old man. The old man pats Cyndaquil on the
head… Man: I’m not
busy right now, so would you like me to give you a tour? Gold looks
at the buildings and turns back to the old man… Gold: That would
be great, thank you Man: Great,
follow me The man
begins to wander the town, explaining the buildings to Gold. He explains that a
certain path will lead directly to Mr Pokémon’s house before leading Gold back
to a house… Man: This is my
house. Thank you for letting me show you around Gold: You don’t
have to thank me, I needed the tour Man: Well, here
you go. Take this, it is very useful He hands a
small computer chip to Gold. Gold grabs his PokeGear and places the chip in the
side. Upon turning on the PokeGear, a map appears on the screen… Man: It’s a map
of Johto. I think you’ll find it very handy. Anyway, I wish you luck on your
journey The man
enters the house and closes the door behind him. Gold places the PokeGear back
in his backpack before heading down the path to Mr Pokémon’s house… (Another montage plays.
This time, clips of the journey are shown. For each picture, Gold narrates what
is happening…) A clip of
Cyndaquil fighting a caterpie is shown… Gold: (narration) I continued my journey
towards Mr Pokémon’s house. Along the way, I stumbled across a caterpie.
Cyndaquil defeated it with a powerful tackle and gained the ability to use the
move smokescreen in battle. A clip of
Gold picking a berry from a tree is shown… Gold: (voiceover) I also found a berry in a
tree. Cyndaquil liked the look of it so I allowed him to hold onto it A clip of
Gold talking to two kids is shown… Gold: (voiceover) I also met two youngsters
named Joey and Mikey, who were battling each other. The fight was intense but
they were blocking the path so I had to take an alternate route The montage
ends and Gold is shown standing outside a house… Gold: (to himself) Is this it? He opens
the front door and walks inside. 2 old men are in the house talking to each
other. One of them spots Gold and quickly walks over to him… Man: Hello!
Hello! You must be Gold. Professor Elm said that you would visit. This item is
what I want Elm to examine He runs
over to a table and grabs a small egg before handing it to Gold… Man: I know a couple
who run a Day-Care service. They gave me that egg. I was intrigued, so I sent
an email to Professor Elm The man
turns to the other man, who is identified as Oak… Man: For Pokémon
evolution, Professor Elm is the authority. Oak recognises that. If my
assumption is correct, Professor Elm will know it He turns
back to Gold who places the egg in his backpack… Man: Are you
heading back to Professor Elm’s lab? You should have some rest? Gold turns
to Cyndaquil who shakes its head… Gold: No thanks,
we’re both in a hurry Man: Very well,
I guess you should get going Oak clears
his throat and walks towards Gold… Oak: So you’re
Gold! I’m Oak, a Pokémon researcher! I was just visiting my old friend, Mr Pokémon,
when I heard you were coming so I decided to wait for you He looks at
Cyndaquil… Oak: Oh, what’s
this? He picks up
Cyndaquil and pats in while holding it in his arms… Oak: A rare Pokémon,
it seems. I think I understand why Elm gave this little Pokémon to you He places
Cyndaquil back on Gold’s shoulder… Oak: He saw that you would treat it with
love and care Cyndaquil
nods it head. Oak reaches into his pocket and grabs a red device… Oak: You seem
dependable, how would you like to help me out? He hands
the device to Gold. Gold holds the device and looks at it… Oak: This is the
latest Pokedex. It automatically records the data of all the Pokémon you see
and capture. It’s basically a high tech encyclopedia Gold opens
the device and switches it on. It opens a progress bar before showing a picture
of Cyndaquil alongside some text that describes Cyndaquil… Gold: That’s so
cool! Oak: I want you
to go and meet every type of Pokémon and record them in the Pokedex. Could you
do that for me? Gold: Sure thing Oak: Thank you,
Gold. Well, I’ve stayed too long. I need to get back to Goldenrod for my usual
radio show. I’m counting on you, Gold Oak exits
the building. Gold shakes hands with Mr Pokémon before leaving the house.
Suddenly, Gold’s backpack vibrates. Gold reaches into his backpack and grabs
his PokeGear. Professor Elms name is on the screen. Gold presses the answer
button before Elm quickly speaks… Elm: H-hello?
Gold, it’s a disaster. It’s just terrible. Please get back here immediately Before Gold
can speak, Elm hangs up. Gold quickly rushes back through the grass. A pidgey
suddenly swoops down. Gold orders Cyndaquil to tackle the pidgey. Cyndaquil
tackles the pidgey, causing it to faint… Shortly
after, a metapod appears. Gold orders Cyndaquil to attack with tackle.
Cyndaquil tackles the metapod but the metapod shakes it off… Gold: It didn’t
defeat it Metapod
suddenly turns a shiny silver colour for a few seconds before returning to
normal. Gold grabs the Pokedex from his pocket and opens it… Pokedex: Metapod is capable of using the move, Harden. Harden
does not do any damage but it increases the users defence stat, making it take
more damage before fainting… Gold: Damn it,
this’ll be difficult. CYNDAQUIL, USE TACKLE AGAIN! Cyndaquil
tackles the metapod. The metapod responds by using Harden a second time… Gold: NO! You’re
not using that anymore. Cyndaquil, another tackle! Cyndaquil
tackles the metapod into a tree. The metapod weakly falls flat on the ground
and faints. Cyndaquil jumps onto Gold’s shoulder… Gold: Well done,
buddy The two
walk into Cherrygrove… Gold: Let’s go,
New Bark isn’t too far now As he
begins to run towards New Bark Town, Gold spots the male with red hair walking
towards him. The male stops in front of Gold and looks at Cyndaquil… Male: A
Cyndaquil? Cyndaquil
happily nods it head. The male turns to Gold… Male: What a
waste, giving a wimp like you a Pokémon! Gold takes
a step forward… Gold: What was
that?! The male
takes a step closer to Gold and tries to give an intimidating look… Male: Don’t you
get what I’m saying? Well, I also have a strong Pokémon. In fact, much stronger
than you Gold: You’re
wrong! I’m not a wimp! Male: Prove it!
How about a short battle, and by short, I mean the fact that I will win with no
effort Gold: Alright, I’ll
accept your challenge! The male takes a few steps back before throwing a Poke-ball into the air. A Totodile emerges from the ball and lands on the ground… Gold: Totodile Male: I’m waiting
for you to call your Pokémon, or are you too scared? Gold: NEVER!
Cyndaquil, go! Cyndaquil
jumps onto the ground in front of Gold and stares at Totodile… Male: Totodile,
scratch! Totodile
leaps forward and tries to scratch Cyndaquil, who quickly jumps to the side… Gold: Use tackle! Cyndaquil
quickly tackles Totodile and steps back… Male: Why are you
slow?! Use another scratch! Totodile
stands up and charges towards Cyndaquil… Gold: Smokescreen! Cyndaquil
releases a black cloud from his mouth, making it hard to see. Totodile stops
and tries to find Cyndaquil… Male: I didn’t
tell you to stop! Water gun! Totodile
shoots water from his mouth. Cyndaquil jumps out of the way… Gold: Tackle! Cyndaquil
charges and tackles Totodile. Totodile falls onto its back and closes it eyes.
The male growls and returns Totodile to its Poke-ball… Male: Are you
happy you won?! Cyndaquil
jumps onto Gold’s shoulder. Gold scratches Cyndaquils chin before turning to
the male… Gold: I never
meant to make you feel unhappy Male: Shut up!
You’re just a wimp who knows nothing about Pokémon! He steps
forward and stares angrily into Gold’s eyes… Male: I’m going
to be the world’s greatest Pokémon trainer, just wait and see He pushes
Gold out of the way and walks away. Gold looks down and finds a card before
picking it up. It’s the male’s trainer card. The male returns and snatches the
card from Gold… Male: Give that
back, it’s mine! His eyes
suddenly widen… Male: Oh no, you
saw my name. Damn it! The male
suddenly runs away. Gold quickly runs towards New Bark Town. Along the way, he
notices police officers searching the area. He quickly arrives in New Bark Town
and runs into the lab… Gold: Professor
Elm! Are you ok?! Elm is
talking to a police officer. He notices Gold and runs over to him… Elm: Thank god
you’re ok. We have a huge problem The officer
stands behind Elm… Officer: Young man, Elm was recently robbed. The suspect is a young male with red hair Gold
suddenly remembers the male with the Totodile… Gold: I saw him Elm: You what? Gold: I saw him,
he had a Totodile Officer: That must
be the male we’re after. Young man, did you happen to get his name? Gold
remembers picking up the trainer card. There was a picture of the male with the
word, Silver, underneath it… Gold: Silver, his
name was Silver Officer: Are you sure? Gold: I saw his
trainer card, his name is Silver Officer: Thank you,
young man. Professor Elm, we will now begin our search for this male The officer
leaves the building. Elm sits in a chair and sobs… Elm: My Pokémon,
it’s gone Gold crouches
next to Elm. Elm suddenly looks at Gold’s backpack… Elm: What’s in
there? Gold
suddenly pulls out the Egg. Elm suddenly falls out of the chair before quickly
standing up. He grabs the egg and places in on a desk… Elm: A Pokémon
egg? If so, this is a great discovery He notices
the Pokedex… Elm: Is that
what I think it is? Gold hands
the Pokedex to Elm… Elm: It’s a
Pokedex, where did you get it? Gold: Professor
Oak gave it to me. He wants me to find all the Pokémon and fill the Pokedex Elm: That’s
incredible! Professor Oak has always been able to see the potential in
trainers. He must think you have a chance Gold: A chance at
what? Elm: Have you
heard of the Pokémon Gym challenge? Gold shakes
his head… Elm: I see, it’s
a set of 8 extremely difficult battles that are highly rewarding. If you can
win all 8, you are able to challenge the Pokémon League Gold: The Pokémon
League, you mean the champion of the Indigo Plateau? Elm: Exactly, if
Oak gave you the Pokedex, he must think you have the potential Gold: So what do I
do? Elm pats
Cyndaquil on the head… Elm: You must
have a bond with this Pokémon by now, am I right? Before Gold
can respond, Cyndaquil jumps into Gold’s arms and hugs him… Gold: He really
enjoyed the trip Elm: He didn’t
just enjoy the trip. Cyndaquil has grown attached to you. I will allow you to
keep him Gold: Really? Cyndaquil
happily jumps onto Elms shoulder and hugs him. Gold picks up Cyndaquil and
places him back on his shoulder… Elm: Take
Cyndaquil with you. Head to Violet City, that’s where the first gym is. Then,
head to the towns after that and defeat those gyms too. I think you can do it Gold smiles
and pats Cyndaquil… Gold: Alright, I’ll
challenge the gyms and make you proud He begins
to exit the building but Elm quickly stops him… Elm: Hold on,
you need to go and see your mother first. She has to know where you’re going Gold nods
his head and runs out of the building. He runs into his own house… Mother: Gold,
darling. how was it? She notices
Cyndaquil and picks him up. She pats him on the head… Mother: Such a cute
Pokémon, is this Elms? Gold: It’s mine Mother: Oh, you got
your own Pokémon. That’s amazing, Gold She notices
the Pokedex and grabs it… Mother: A Pokedex?
You’re going on a journey? Gold: I ran into
Professor Oak and he saw potential in me. He thinks I can become powerful Mother: (slightly sad) Ok then, that’s good Gold: Is
something wrong? Mother: I’m just so surprised that my boy is so grown up. He’s going on a Pokémon journey She places
Cyndaquil back on Gold’s shoulder… Mother: I think I
can help you, give me your PokeGear Gold opens
his backpack and grabs the PokeGear. He hands it to his mother… His mother
places the PokeGear on the dining table and pushes some buttons… Mother: Here we go.
You now have a bank account on your PokeGear Gold: What for? Mother: Battling other
trainers can be very rewarding. Win a battle and a small portion of money is
transferred into your account. Lose a battle, however, and a small portion of
money is lost Gold: What about
the money I left home with? Mother: Leave it
here, your account already has $3000 loaded into it. It’s also got a feature
activated so 20% of all money you earn will be transferred to a separate bank
account, an account that only I can access. But of course, I’ll only use that
money if absolutely necessary Gold: Ok, thanks Gold’s
mother suddenly gives Gold a hug… Mother: Come home
every so often, I want to see what Pokémon you have captured Gold: I will His mother
lets go and smiles… Mother: Remember, Pokémon
are your friends. You need to work as a team. Now go on Gold nods
his head and runs out of the house. As he runs towards Cherrygrove, his voice
begins to narrate… Gold: (voiceover) And now I’m on my way to
Violet City, where I will challenge the first gym of the Johto region. After
that, I’ll defeat more gyms and I’ll eventually challenge the Pokémon Champion! Gold sees a
wild pidgey. He nods at Cyndaquil who jumps onto the ground and charges at the
pidgey. As he tackles the pidgey, the screen fades away and a small rectangle
appears at the bottom of the screen… It says ‘Save’
and the options are ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ It also says: Gold Pokedex-5 Gym
Badges-0 Time-2:14 A small
arrow is next to the Yes option. The arrow fades, showing that the Yes option
was chosen. The screen fades to black… THE END Episode 2
Synopsis: Gold arrives in Violet City, where he learns that the Gym
Leader is busy. To buy time, Gold challenges the sages at the Sprout Tower and
confronts Silver. Not long after, Gold challenges the Gym Leader in an intense
battle for Gold’s first Gym Badge…
