The Deal of DeathA Poem by Akshay RajuI wrote this after my grandpa died..never really showed this to anyone till now
The Deal of Death
Sitting on the lonely corridor I lean upon the pillars of memory that hold up this creakin heart death that part from us, the dearest leaves no life, but emotions that live on until... time comes for us all.... I can reach those old high (cupboards) I couldn't reach back den, wer u used to hide from us those pretty peacock feathers but now I look upon that empty shelf, I see feathers that have flown away with you, grandpa...to the highest skies Strange how a man I doubt held any cross in life now holds a cross so firm in the night of life With this heavy heart I hold onto, I look at the cloudy sky in those eyes that brought me up,..and my heart sinks in the rain that falls. What seems real are those what we feel, Standing near that ice cold box,.. I folly the light that falls from that golden chandelier, up on your glowing face For it can't warm the cold u lie in. this majesty ends ... with you dear grandpa © 2016 Akshay Raju |
