Redemptive

Redemptive

A Poem by BrassBee

How many times

Did you promise

To simply walk away

When she says

You’ve been this way (here) before

Aren’t you tired of Golgotha mud between your toes

(And splinters down your back)

Lay those sticks down

All you can do is nod and smile and turn away

I’ll be fine when you turn round
