My World of MemoriesA Poem by Brandon LeeA poem written for my English class, I did not want to see it go to waste.Days gone by and memories bygone, Each morning seeing a different dawn, One eye in front and one looking back, Each evening traveling on some
different track.
A brisk breeze I’ve felt on my cheek, Tender gusts to please the meek, Shallow tides amidst the rocks All pictures stored in some forgotten
box.
Years pass by, new takes the old, Memories reduced to stories told, Comprehension, retention, facts to
replace, Time goes on, at a faster pace.
Our past helps determine our future, Wise it is, to fasten the suture, It is true, you soon may find, Those that forget, are truly blind.
Why, I ask, why do we forget? Life is not some devil’s bet. We live for what we see But memories fade, memories flee. © 2014 Brandon LeeAuthor's Note
