PoetryA Poem by Brandon Henson 1990A poem they say, is a expression of feeling, Something of substance to set your mind reeling,
It doesn't matter what people say, Jut turn your cheek and shrug it off, To them, no attention you shoud pay,
Just stick to it and write another, Poetry was never meant to be shoved under the cover, Write a poem about the weather, A poem about you mother, Maybe even a poem about your day, Or perhaps your fantastic lover.
A poem can say so many things, it can sadden a day, or it can settle the most violent fray, Joy it can bring, and cause people to sing, Or even cause the offering of a engagement ring.
But remember this....
Nothing you express can ever be wrong, It can be short, just right, or terribly long,
Poetry can be, whatever you want it to be, For just one poem can cause even, The deaf to hear, Or the blind to see,
Or it can break chains and set the world free.
