BonfireA Poem by Brandon Henson 1990A night of cold and inky night, A lone bonfire glowing bright, Projecting on faces a eery light.
Around the fire all sorts of fellows, Telling stories, singing songs and of course, Eating marshmellows.
The warm cozy fire, everyone is snug, Only wood it burns, and the occasional mesmerized bug, Everyones coacoa steaming in its mug.
For a night, differences are put aside, Bad deeds forgotten, grudges set to light, The power of a fire radiates through the nght, And the odd scary story to give the kids a fright.
Now everyone's content and falling asleep, So silent, nothing around dares make a peep, Except the occasional bleet for a hair brained sheep.
The fire dies down and turns to embers, And part of the group all are members.
Such a great night no one will doubt,
A family is born,
As the embers die out.
