Worth The Risk ? ©

A Poem by Brandon Henson 1990

O how dangerous love can be...

Dangerous like the rolling waves of the sea

Cold is the rain, and the wind is brisk

But isn't true love worth the risk ?

As the clouds begin to fade

The rolling waves melt away

Gorgeous and perfect

You stand in my way

And no longer in my chest

Does my heart want to stay.

But on the next stormy day...

In the puddles, our children will jump and play

Even when the rain is cold and the wind brisk.

I will remember...

True love was definitely worth the risk.

At the risk of sounding patronising, each poem you do just get's better and better. This is Brilliant. Simple, clear, terrific flow and faultless.

And on record, I Hate Love poetry. I hate its fake sentimentality, but there's nothing fake in you mate.

I rather have never loved then to have loved and lost.
so yes these words hold true, love is dangerous.
love is worth it for when you truly do find love
you will take any hit and you know that it is worth it.
