Together ©A Poem by Brandon Henson 1990Just a play around with a medieval war setting.Together we stand, Under banner and flag, Together our swords will strike down as one.
Shields shall sunder, Men shall break, Fortress shall burn.
Trebuchet's sling boulder, Flaming comets among innocent homes, And ballista impale man, woman and child without guilt or remorse.
Hundreds we slew ? No thousands were slain, Together we fought under blood tinged rain.
Standard was raised, As last man fell.
Glory and fame, Riches and power, Together victory had been won.
Land and plunder we took by force, Togtether as one we rode off on horse, Red was the night, The day soaked in blood, Countless bodies now lay in crimson blood.
What was it for ? Greed ? Religion ? Or a bloodlust for war ? Matter it does not, Regardless of status, Together that day, We all were poor.
