Days Of Depression

Days Of Depression

A Poem by PHFASCES

when obstacles get big
the fight seems even bigger
depression builds up
our troubles a stacked building of lego
you feel useless and weak
like flying a kite on a stormy day
breaking apart
waiting to shatter
when asked if you are alright
you mask it with a warm smile
i'm fine
don't worry
that's how we try to keep strong
some even make a few jokes
get the crowds falling in laughter
but we still feel empty
we do it to divert them from their concerns
yet we secretly wish they see through the mask
break these walls and catch us in our fall
but fear of worrying them leads us away
drowning in our sorrows
dancing in the clubs of pity
thriving for this obstacle to end
holding on to one philosophy
the night is always darkest before the dawn
praying for the strength to go on
