The Idealist's dreamA Poem by PHFASCES
We are species
Constantly wounded by our ideals Contradicting everything we do on a daily Ideals we create just divide us Even if the intention is to unite us Blinded by greed, pride and our egos Letting them take control of our conscious Never waking up from these illusions Yes, the ones our ancestors created for us Constantly living life just to prove a point Wasting life with certain goals that can be pointless Always working to be better than the other Doing the opposite of what we were meant to do As much as minority brings up good ideals Majority fears the change and blows them all away When will we wake up and realise the illusion And start building ourselves like we were meant to But it's just a dream I try to put to action And ignorance is a bliss to the foolish wise man too attached to the goal of materialism I just want the day to arrive when we don't care about the money Where we don't care about being better than the other Or letting nationality, race and religion divide us A day when i can wake up in shock and say "Whew! It was just a dream"
